Thursday Ride Thread

Planning a ride?

I borrowed a small knife from someone either on Wednesday or Thursday's ride, but I don't remember who. If you lent me a knife, describe it and I will make sure you get it back!

When did you borrow a knife on the Jenksville/Oakley ride?

Which ride did you return with less riders than you started with?

If I knew that I'd also know who I borrowed it from. I don't even remember WHY I borrowed it. But I've got a knife in my car and it's not mine. Maybe it was Jenksville...who parked next to me?

I think Fulton was on the left of you and Donnie was on the right of you.

Thanks, I just sent an email to the Bing group to see if someone is missing a knife.

I also found out more regarding the missing bike. It seems that John, the man who showed up for the Oakley ride without his bike, is a friend of Ted's. Mo texted him yesterday to see how things turned out. Apparently John's bike was not secured in the back of his pickup and fell out when he left his house. John found his bike safe and sound back at his house when he returned home that evening. So all is well that ends well.

The dry and dusty tour of Shindagin. Above and below board trails starting at the gravel lot on Braley Hill Rd. 13+ miles, or until Trigger gets 2 flats, whichever comes first. 5:30 ride time.

Cheap shot!! Inspection of the tubes looked like something on the rim was causing a cut. Or that you were stabbing my tire with that stupid pocketknife you stole from someone. I cleaned everything, replaced my rim strip, patched the tube, put on a new tire...and will test everything tomorrow.

But I don't know that I can make the Thursday ride this week...

I'm pretty sure I'm not the out-of-towner you're referring to. But I'll be in town Thur and Fri and was hoping to join you guys this week.
Trigger took me on a tour the last time I was around and I'm looking for more!

Hehe, it's okay Trigger. We had to stop twice to fix derailleur issues for me on Saturday. Derailleurs seem to be the bane of my existence this summer. Keeps up, I may have to consider SS or one of those fancy internal shifter-things<--for the cost of a new frame.

Jim, I hope you make it out Thursday! It would be good to see you again.

Got in a great ride with the Dude on Tuesday. Awesome conditions and railed everything at top speed. No flats too! Rides should not be judged solely by mileage, but by the number of hoots and hollers produced. :thumb:

Very cool that a few out-of-towners may be joining the crew Thursday evening. I'm pretty sure I'll be there!

I'm thinking of getting there at about 4 or 4:30 tomorrow. I'm planning to do a quick loop--something that incorporates IMBA--then be back at the lot for the 5:30 ride.

If anyone can show up early and join me let me know.

Well, forget that coming down early thing. I just found a crack in the Spitfire. This is the head tube/top tube junction:

Now I just have to decide whether it's worth it to come down with the old single speed. I've maybe done 4 rides on the thing since I bought the Spitfire last year.

I'll be there for 5:30.
Trigger, will we be meeting at the same parking lot that you and I started from? Looking at this map (Shindagin Map) the 2nd "P" headed south on Brearley Road?

BTW, I'll be the guy driving the blue mini cooper. If you see me parked at the wrong spot give me a holla!
