Southern Tier Enduro at Jones Park
July 10 @ 8:00 am - July 11 @ 5:00 pm
Southern Tier Enduro Series – Jones Park
Brought to you by Chenango Point Cycles
Chenango Point Cycles very excited to be hosting this event at Jones Park for the fourth year! As always we have changed things up slightly to keep it interesting and keep everyone, including the locals, on their toes. We are returning this year as part of the Mid Atlantic Super Series. If you are racing for points in that series then this race will count toward your overall standings. If you do not follow the series, don’t worry! You do not need to race the series to be able to race this event. Nothing has changed about how you compete, register, or ride for the weekend. On site registration is Sunday starting at 8:00 am, at 10 sharp we will head out for the first stage. That’s it! As always – everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate – we have a category for you.
The race will consist of 5 timed stages, and you will transfer to each stage under your own power. For those that have raced previously – we have changed up the stages again this year to keep it fresh! The focus of this race is a combination of speed, bike handling skills, and endurance. Each stage’s focus is downhill oriented, but expect sprints and punchy climbs that will test your overall fitness. Fastest overall time wins! We have some vendors for the event weekend so you can check them out and talk about their products on Saturday and Sunday. Our camping limit will be expanded again to allow more people to chill with us Saturday night, and we will have live music in the field until they shut us down!
Jones is a great place to ride with gorgeous ridgeline views, winding creeks, and a gorgeous old growth forest. It’s full of fun natural singletrack with plenty of roots and rocks to keep it interesting. The descents are fast and technical and most of the features are natural. Please be respectful of the park, of nature and of all of the people putting on this event. Carry out what you carry in, don’t start any bonfires, and tread lightly – Jones is a beautiful place.
