Looking to improve your skills, meet other awesome women mountain bikers, and enjoy tasty Hopshire beer at sunset? Then Skillin’ and Chillin’ is the place for you! This a FREE skills series, but RSVP is required by the Wednesday morning prior to the event.
We’ll meet at Hopshire Brewery (1771 Dryden Rd., Freeville, NY). Each event will start with basic bike checks, then split into a few groups. One beginner group will focus on basics of bike/body position, shifting, braking, and balance while the second group will work on varied other skills such as cornering, obstacles, wheel lifts, small drops, etc. Then, we enjoy Hopshire beer and the sunset!
We recommend a well-tuned mountain bike with at least a front suspension fork (that moves!). Basic hardtail mountain bikes are available for a $20 rental fee through Cornell Outdoor Education. Once you RSVP, we will send you a skills questionnaire. On the questionnaire, please indicate if you would like us to bring a mountain bike to the event for you.
Helmets are required. Wear comfortable, athletic clothes and shoes.
IF WE SELL OUT – Please email us! We’d love to put you on the waiting list in the event we have a cancellation.
